Suspected militants on Thursday afternoon attacked a patrolling party of 62 Rashtriya Rifles in Bas Kuchan village of Shopian district.

Reports emerging said that massive gunshots were heard when army men of 62 RR were moving from one camp to another neighbouring bunker.
They said that militants resorted to massive firing on the patrolling party.
Earlier, 62 RR was part of the massive search operation in Shopian district which started in the wee hours of Thursday.
