Kashmir has found mention in a video advertisement favouring United States Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Taking a dig at the Democratic presidential nominee Hilary Clinton for, the advertisement narrator says, “her husband, [former President] Bill Clinton, wants to give Kashmir to Pakistan. Vote Republican — great for you, great for U S – India relations and great for America.”

Bill Clinton had once said that Kashmir is one of the most dangerous places on the earth.

Notable to mention here that Bill Clinton’s visit to the Subcontinent in March 2000 saw a shift in US policy on the issue of Kashmir.

Digressing from the US’s stated position apparently favoring Pakistani view, Bill Clinton had said in New Delhi, “he only supports some process by which the Kashmiris’ legitimate grievances are addressed”.

The advertisement tells us that Hilary Clinton is “sympathetic” to Pakistan and “gave billions in aide and military equipment to Pakistan”.

The 29-second length pro-Trump Campaign advertisement is available on YouTube and was released by the Republican Hindu Coalition (RHC) on Tuesday. It criticizes Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton’s aide, for her Pakistani connection.

Abedin, who is of Pakistani descent, currently serves as vice-chairperson for Clinton’s campaign.

Recently, during the US election campaign, The Republican presidential nominee, Trump, attended an event organized by the Republican Hindu Coalition in New Jersey USA. In his speech he had said, “if I am voted to power, India will have a real good friend in White House.” However, later Trump volunteered to mediate between South Asian nuclear powers India and Pakistan.

The United States goes to elections this month and by January 2017, incumbent president, Barack Hussain Obama, will demit office and one amongst Hillary and Trump will assume the presidential office.
