Former MoS Home and MLC from Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo distributed relief among fire victims of Padder on Saturday.
A fire incident in Padder’s Khajrooni and Ghandari had devastated their residential homes.
After hearing about the tragic fire incident, Kichloo reached out to the fire affected village in less than 24 hours along with relief material comprising of warm clothes and blankets and distributed among them.
He also announced financial assistance of Rs 50000 to each fire victim out of his CDF and Rs 10000 each out of his salary.
In a press statement issued this evening, MLC Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo demanded immediate rehabilitation of all the affected families and asked the government to provide Rs 5 lakh to all the fire affected families of Padder, Sukhnai Warwan and also to those who lost their homes in tragic fire incident at Hidyal Kishtwar out of disaster relief.
“Instead of indulging in photo Ops, the ruling BJP-PDP leaders should concentrate on proper rehabilitation of the fire affected people,” he said, “to the disappointment of many, the ruling party leaders failed to provide any sucker to them when they were in need of help.”
Kichloo after conducting five days tour of the area said, “the villagers kept waiting for the help, but no one turned for their help as a result of which the fire victims shifted to adjoining villages for sheltering their family aimed intense cold conditions.” “There is immediate need of providing free timber, tin sheets, free one year ration.”
He said that the area is very far flung and winter has already set in. “The government and the administration should rise up to the situation by speeding up the rehabilitation process on war footing.”
