J&K Unit of Congress on Saturday expressed serious concern over the killing of Qaiser Hameed Sofi, a young boy of Shalimar, who lost his life due to “torture by forces” and Saahil Ahmad Wagay who was crushed to death at Pehroo Islamabad.
A statement issued by the party said that Congress demanded judicial probe in both the killings and urged the government to ensure stern punishment to those involved in these unfortunate incident of deaths.
The PCC Spokesperson while condemning the killing of Qaiser Hameed and Sahil Ahmad Wagay said, “the killing of innocent people, in any form is highly condemnable, unacceptable.”
“The unabated incident of killings is the root cause of anger among the youth in the valley, which is a matter of grave concern. Government must take effective measures to stop the loss of precious lives and injuries to common innocent people,” he said.
Mentioning that Qaiser Hameed Sofi lost his life due to interrogation, while as Saahil was crushed to death “as a result of heavy stone pelting” in Pehroo village of Islamabad.
The spokesperson termed both these incidents most fortunate and tragic and expressed grave concern over such type of tragic incidents.
