On 119th consecutive day of civilian uprising, a pro-freedom rally was held post congregational Friday prayers in North Kashmir’s Bandipora.
After prayers, reports said that people began marching towards main Chowk Bandipora amid pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.
As soon as people reached main Chowk, clashes erupted between forces and protesters.
People pelted stones on the forces and to disperse the protesters, teargas and pellets were fired, the local reports said.
However, no major injuries were reported in the incident.
Meanwhile, Friday prayers were also jointly offered in Eidgah Kehnusa Bandipora by hundreds of people who had come from adjoining villages.
Reports coming from Sopore said that clashes erupted after the Friday prayers.
Soon after the prayers, pro-freedom slogans were raised by the people and soon clashes broke out between youth and forces, reports said.
