Massive clashes erupted in Shalteng area of Srinagar on Friday evening.
Local sources said that around 2000 occupied main Shalteng Chowk in the outskirts of Srinagar around 5 PM.
“The pro-freedom protestors came from Zainakote, Mustafabad, Umarabad, Shalteng and Maloora areas,” local sources said.
Amid pro-freedom slogans, the sources said, they youth took out a rally. “But police and CRPF lobbed scores of tear gas canisters and it has become impossible to breathe normally,” a caller from Shalteng area said.
The locals said that protestors marched towards Mustafabad and Umarabad where clashes are going on this time, reports said.
