Independent legislator, Er Rashid has appealed political parties and other organizations, who are planning to meet all party delegation not to toe traditional line and speak for the huge sacrifices of Kashmiris and stress for holding plebiscite on both sides of LoC.
In a statement issued here Rashid said, “This is the right time when mainstream political parties can affiliate themselves not only with the popular sentiment of people but also with the historic Himalayan reality that J&K has never been India’s integral part.”
“We are not seeking any undue favours from Indian state and the ongoing struggle doesn’t belong to a particular group, party, region or division.”
Kashmiris have sacrificed as a nation, as such people and parties with in J&K have a right and choice to differ with each other over the ways and means to force India for holding plebiscite but the least all political parties and amalgams can do is to say in one voice that holding plebiscite is the only way forward, Rashid said.
“For this the agenda of restoration of autonomy or other formulas should be given up, as they can neither yield anything nor would be acceptable to people of J&K but will just weaken the genuine cause of the people of J&K.”
