JKPCC Engineers rue ‘Step-Motherly’ Treatment by Management

The in-house engineers of Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation Limited (JKPCC) Friday alleged “step-motherly” treatment by its administration.

A statement issued by the Engineers Association of JK PCC Limited said urged J&K government to resolve their long pending issues including “time-bound promotion, appropriate grades and other matters”.

JKPCC employees a significant number of engineers for its different units/departments/trades, besides it gets a significant number of such engineers, on deputation, from R&B.

“The Association also denounced step-motherly treatment given to the corporation borne engineering cadre by the management,” the statement quoted the minutes of the meeting of the Engineers Association.

The Engineers Association office bearers will be meeting the Managing Director of JK PCC in this regard.

Notably, the J&K Projects Construction Corporation Limited is a government owned company which was incorporated in 1965. “It had an authorized share capital of Rs 25.00 Lakh and corresponding paid up capital of Rs 10.00 Lakhs. The authorized capital was raised from time to time and finally it was raised to Rs 200.00 Lakh in 1981-82 with the paid up capital to Rs 152.50 Lakh,” the website of the JKPCC read. “The Board of Directors agreed to raise the authorized share capital to Rs 500.00 Lakh.”

The Corporation has its own building complexes both in Jammu and Srinagar and has added a fleet of Machinery to augment the construction methods on modern lines Also JKPCC has set up material testing laboratories on modern lines both at Jammu & Srinagar on collusion with M/s AIMIL.
