After being nominated to the Executive Committee of the Editors’ Guild of India along with veteran editors and senior journalists of International repute, Greater Kashmir Editor-in-Chief, Fayaz Kaloo, said that “it was good sign for Kashmir Journalism”.
Kaloo is the first Kashmir-based editor who has made it to the ace Indian journalist body. His name figured in the new executive committee of Editors Guild of India on Wednesday.
Talking to KNS, Kaloo said that he was glad for making to the prestigious journalistic body.
“It gives me immense pleasure for being chosen to the top journalists’ body in India. It is a good sign for state’s journalism,” he said.
Kaloo is one among the four special invitees to the EG, including the veteran scribes Kuldip Nayyar, Mrinal Pande and Patricia Mukhim. He is heading the Greater Kashmir Communications Pvt Ltd which runs Kashmir’s major English daily for last 25 years, besides an Urdu daily and a monthly magazine.
“As a journalist and editor, I will carry forward the profession of journalism with the principles of fairness, unbiased coverage and impartiality,” Kaloo added.
