‘Youth Facilitating Traffic on Busy Awantipora Highway Injured in Gun Shots’

Reports reaching here from South Kashmir Tuesday late evening said that three youth who were facilitating traffic in Awantipora area were injured by “unprovoked firing by Central Reserve Forces”.

Witnesses, quoted by a newspaper, said, “forces opened unprovoked fire on civilians during a traffic jam on the Srinagar- Jammu highway. The said youth were helping vehicles pass during a massive traffic jam when CRPF men opened fire.”

Meanwhile, doctors said that three people suffered gunshot wounds during the incident.
