Two Runaway SPOs Killed in Jammu Encounter, Police Say

Police Thursday said that two runaway Special Police Officers (SPOs) were killed in an encounter with government forces in the Jammu region.

On September 9 this year, two SPOS, Gul Mohammad and Riaz Ahmed, ran away along with their service rifles, thus setting off a sense that the duo has joined militant ranks. Later, reports said that the duo had joined the militant ranks.

“Both were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Bagwa village of Doda district today,” police said, adding one AK 47 rifle and one INSAS rifle was recovered from their possession.
