Eivind S Homme, Norway Ambassador to India, called on NN Vohra, Governor, at the Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday.
The Governor and Homme discussed the implementation of the various programmes, in the Jammu and Kashmir regions, which are being run under the Norway-India Partnership Initiative 2013-17. They also discussed the new areas which need to be covered in the coming years, an official statement said this evening.
“The founder Co-Chairman of the Indo-European Union Round Table (2001-08), the Governor recalled the very strong bilateral ties between the two countries which commenced within days of India attaining freedom,” the statement said.
The Governor invited the Ambassador to pay a longer visit to the State and view the fruitful possibilities which exist for Norwegian investors to launch some mutually beneficial projects in J&K.
He also referred to the high potential of Indo-Norwegian collaborations in the education sector and fostering of joint research programmes in identified fields, the statement added.
