Mirwaiz Leads Funeral of Zargar’s Mother, Condoles Demise

SRINAGAR

Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of the mother of prominent resistance leader Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar. Mirwaiz while paying rich tribute to the pious lady also praised the contributions made by Zargar family for the freedom struggle, a party statement said.

“Mirwaiz recalled that Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar’s father was a prominent activist of Muslim Conference and Awami Action Committee who made tremendous contributions to the freedom struggle. Also the son-in-law of the deceased was made a victim of enforced disappearance after being arrested by the Indian armed forces in 1992,” the statement quoted as having said.

Mirwaiz later led the Funeral Prayers (Nimaz-e-Jinazah) of the deceased.
