While expressing his deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives in Doda and Uri landslide incidents, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani Saturday expressed condolence with the affected families.
Terming the extraordinary rise in the incidents of landslides after recent rains as serious issue, he demanded that an expert opinion should be sought in this regard that why has these incidents shown an increasing trend and how can this be addressed.
In a statement, Geelani said, “The landslide incidents in Laden village of Charai-i-Sharief Budgam, Doda, Uri and Baramullah have aggrieved the whole state and the people living in the hilly areas are worried about their safety.”
The Hurriyat (G) chairman instructed all affiliates of his organization and forum to extend every possible help to the affected families in this hour of grief.
