Police Compromising Its Own Basic Human Rights!

Sounds strange but yes it is correct that police, the strongest organization of the state government, is compromising the basic human rights of its personnel. An RTI application has given fantastic details about the presence of toilets and drinking water facilities in the police stations.

Information provided by the police’s PIO information activist Raman Sharma reveals that 48 Police posts and 14 Police stations across J&K are without toilets. Similarly, drinking water facility is also absent in 49 police Posts and 23 Police Stations.

J&K has 215 Police station including 11 police stations of Railway, two each of Women, CID ands Crime Branch, besides one Tourist station and four AHTU. There area 178 crime police posts and 108 border police posts as well.
