A day ahead of crucial Rajya Sabha polls, Congress and National Conference leaders met independent MLA Engineer Rashid Friday to persuade him to vote for the alliance candidate Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Sources told KNS that several leaders of NC-Congress met Rasheed and tried to persuade him to vote for Azad.
“However, Rasheed asked them to clarify several points related to the hanging of Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru. He didn’t make any commitment with the leaders and has kept his options open whether to vote or to abstain,” they said
