Rs 80 Cr Released in Favour of Flood Affected Families in Srinagar

SRINAGAR


To review the measures undertaken for the rehabilitation and financial assistance being made available to the flood affected families of district Srinagar, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar convened meeting of Revenue officers, an official statement said on Saturday.


“It was given out in the meeting that about Rs. 80 crores have been released in favour of the flood affected families whose houses were damaged during the recent floods. While Rs. 2.19 crores have been provided to the families, who are residing in the rented accommodations,” the statement said.


DC Srinagar enjoined upon the officers of Revenue Department to ensure close coordination with the affected people so that necessary assistance shall be provided to them.


He also asked for expediting the removal of illegal encroachments from the state land in the district. Meanwhile, a checking squad was constituted comprising of SDM Srinagar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue and Assistant Commissioner Nazool, Srinagar to ensure regularities and punctuality of employees in the offices.
