Extortionists Arrested in Tral: Police

Police arrested 02 persons masquerading as militants who were extorting money from the people in Seer area of Tral, a police statement said Thursday afternoon.

“Police station Tral was informed by some locals of village Seer that two persons barged in a house and extorted Rs 10,000/- on gun point. Police swung in action and laid a cordon in the area. 02 extortionists who were identified as Rafiq Ahmad Bhat @ Dada son of Ghulam Mohi-Ud-din and Abdul Rashid Wani residents of Tral and recovered a toy pistol that almost resembles with the actual pistol from their possession,” the statement said.

The duo was masquerading as militants and extorting money, the statement said.
