SRINAGAR
Suspected militants killed a Kashmir police cop and injured a civilian in Homshalibugh area in Kulgam in South Kashmir.
“A guard of Home-ShaliBugh lawmaker in Kulgam, Zahoor Ahmad, was fired upon in Ridwani area,” a police spokesperson said. He said that the cop died while on way to hospital.
The official added that a civilian, Zahoor Ilahai, was also injured during the firing, but his condition is stable.
Armed forces have been rushed to the area and intense searches are going on.
