An encounter between militants and counter insurgent forces started in Meej Pampore area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday morning.
Reports said that a joint team of Army and SOG launched a cordon and search operation in Meej Pampore area after having credible inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering an encounter.
