Srinagar
Panic gripped a few villages in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday after cross LoC firing rages in Pazgam, locals said.
The locals of Rawatpora not too far from the Panzgam told Kashmir Life on the phone that they were panicked by the heavy exchange of gunfire that erupted around 1:00 PM and has been going on intermittently.
“The sound of motor shells and firing has panicked the villagers and brought them out of their homes,” Arjumand, a resident said.
He said that mobile internet services were also suspended in district Kupwara.
A senior police confirmed that the intermittent exchange of shelling was going on since 1 PM.
However, there were no immediate reports of any damage from either side, he added.
