Government forces on Monday launched cordon and search operation (CASO) in Akingam village of Anantnag district in south Kashmir.
Reports said that following the reports of about the presence of militants in Akingam village, a joint team of government forces including Army’s 19 RR, Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) cordoned off the area.
Reports also said that heavy contingents of forces have been deployed in the area and door to door searches are also being conducted.
