One militant was killed in a gunfight between the government forces and militants in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports said that one militant-whose identity was not known immediately has been killed during the gunfight. On the other hand, there are rumours of the killing of militant outfit AGH’s chief Zakir Moosa during the encounter, however, there is no official confirmation from the authorities.
The encounter began after mixed contingents of government forces launched a search operation in the area. During the search, hiding militants fired upon forces, triggering an encounter.
Meanwhile, the mobile internet services have been snapped in various parts of the valley as “precautionary measure”.
