Thousands of people on Wednesday took part in the last rites of slain militant Sabzar Sofi at his native village Sangam, an area of Islamabad district.
Reports said that thousands of people including the old and young ones participated in the funeral prayers of the slain militant. Soon after the funeral prayers, a group of militants appeared in the crowd and offered a gun salute. Reportedly one among them who offered the gun salute was a Hizb commander Zeenatul Islam.
Sabzar was killed today morning after an overnight encounter between the government forces and militants along with associate Asif Ahmad Shergujri in Nowgam area on the outskirts of Srinagar.
