Encounter breaks out in Chadoora, 2 militants believed to be trapped

An encounter breaks out between the government forces and militants in Paatrigam Chadoora area of district Budgam on Monday.

Reports said that security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in Redbug area of Budgam after receiving specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

He said the search operation turned into an encounter as the security forces were fired upon by the militants.

Two militants are believed to be trapped there, sources said.
