Kashmir traders protest against ‘braid chopping’ spree

Srinagar

Kashmir Economic Alliance, a trader’s body, on Thursday held a massive protest demonstration in Press Enclave Srinagar to protest against the braid chopping spree across Kashmir.

The traders led by their president assembled in the press enclave and raised slogans against the government for failing to nab the alleged “braid choppers”.

Pertinently, Kashmir has witnessed a number of braid chopping incidents in the past few days.

On Thursday only, seven cases have been reported so far.

Although the J&K Police has formed Special Investigation Teams at the directions of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti but it has yet failed to crack even one case.

On Wednesday the Kashmir Police chief said that the victims are not ready to speak with the investigation teams. He termed it “unfortunate”.
