Mysterious blast created panic among vendors in Batamaloo area of Srinagar city on Monday afternoon.
Though witnesses said that some unidentified persons lobbed a “grenade” towards vendors that exploded with a bang, but no loss of life or property was reported.
Station House Officer Batamaloo told news agency CNS that some miscreants in a bid to scare the vendors set a cracker that crated scary sound.
“It was not a grenade blast. Roadside vendors have resumed their normal business and to frighten them, miscreants set a ‘cracker’ in air that scared the people,” he said.
