Clashes erupted in Srinagar’s Batamaloo area on Tuesday evening after a freedom rally was held in the area.
Reports said that the rally was about to culminate that police and CRPF lobbed tear gas shells and fired pellets.
Although there were no reports of any injury but two youths have been arrested, locals said.
Meanwhile, youths resorted to stone pelting in Pampore area of Pulwama district after forces raided nearby Samboora village.
Locals said that the youths announced through loud speakers that no relaxation would be observed in shutdown today. “Soon, stone pelting started in the area and forces were rushed and deployed in huge numbers,” local sources said.

Reports coming from Bijbehara area in Islamabad district said that clashes erupted in Kanelwan village after police and CRPF men tried to foil a pro-freedom rally.
Reports said the rally was organised for unity among various sects who had come to attend the rally.
“However, a large posse of forces appeared at the venue and ransacked the equipment besides allegedly beating up people,” a news report said.
However, the rally was still held in the area post forces raid.
Reports said that forces lobbed tear gas shells which fell in to the paddy fields destroying the huge rice heaps. At least ten such rice and grass heaps were destroyed in blaze which belonged to Ghulam Rasool Wani and Gulzar Ahmad Wani, residents of Kanelwan. The incident took place around 12 O’ Clock.
