All Parties Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesday strongly denounced the “rubbish and lies” being spread against the resistance leadership through Indian media and its “stooges”.
“Though it comes as no surprise to people of Kashmir who are exposed to the real face of the so called ‘world largest democracy’ every day and bear its brunt,” spokesperson of the Hurriyat Conference said this afternoon. “They know how low it can stoop and how vengeful it can get.”
“These tactics are aimed at fooling and misleading the people of India and creating hysteria so that attention of people of India is diverted from the actual issue on ground and they are kept ignorant about it,” the spokesperson said.
The Hurriyat Conference spokesperson asked “what travel expenses were provided” to leadership when it previously travelled abroad to create awareness about the Kashmir dispute among the international community or attend invitations extended by the like UN, the OIC and other forums as representatives the subjugated people of Kashmir?
“Because of these efforts of Mirwaiz, the ‘Democratic India’ impounded his passport four years ago. What houses, hotels and medical facilities are being provided to them and why? Why would India extend these favours to the ‘so-called separatists’ needs to be asked?” the spokesperson added.
“It is only JK police personnel provided by the state based on their own threat assessment to Mirwaiz after the martyrdom of his father Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq in 1990. Some police personnel are also provided to other members based on their polices own threat assessment to them,” the APHC-m spokesperson said.
“Such fabrications to discredit the resistance leadership may fool people in India but will not achieve anything with people in Kashmir who are too intelligent not to understand why and what is being done. Neither will revenge tactics change the ground reality in Kashmir nor will it help in resolution of the issue. It is a people’s movement and Hurriyat (Conference) represents and upholds their aspirations for Self Determination… The movement will be there with or without Hurriyat,” the spokesperson asserted.
