Forces raided a pro-freedom rally venue in Bagh-i-Mehtab area on Monday morning, 59th consecutive day of mass anti-establishment uprising in Kashmir.
Reports and local sources said that a rally was scheduled in a public park of the area today but forces raided it early morning and vandalized the stage set for it.
“Soon, protests erupted and forces fired tear gas shells to disperse off the protestors,” sources said.
They added that protests spread to nearby Machowa area as youths came on roads.
Stone pelting and tear gas shelling was going on when last reports came in.
