Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) spokesperson Inam-un-Nabi on Friday strongly condemned government action of banning five new channels which have been “comparatively” covering the uprising in J&K since last two months.
In a statement issued this evening, he said, “first the ultranationalist TV channels started black out of huge anti-India gatherings and to the atrocities taking place in every nook and corner on Kashmiris and tried to mislead everyone by labelling Kashmiris Pakistani agents in the name of serving so called national interest.”
“However, few channels which had some respect towards their professional duties against all odds, tried to show people outside J&K the true face of preachers of non-violence to some extent,” Inam said.

The AIP spokesperson said, “however, the same embarrassed Indian state as gatherings of thousands and thousands and use of force on unarmed protestors started receiving world focus and thus New Delhi directed Mehbooba Mufti to do one more dirty job.”
Inam added that the local valley based news channels were banned by Omar Abdullah “who has been always keen to be like darling for New Delhi and now Ms Mehbooba Mufti is trying to break Omar Abdullah’s records of being more loyal than the king”.
“However, by banning internet services, mobile phones and now TV channels, Modi’s claims that he wanted to see laptops and pens in hands of Kashmiri youth has become a mere joke,” Inam added.
