Three militants have been killed in South Kashmir’s Awantipora.
Reports reaching here said that a massive cordon and search operation was launched by army and J&K Police during last mid-night in Daggerpora and Panzgam areas of Awantipora.
A cop from Police Control Room Awantipora said an encounter ensued in Panzgam area of Awantipora which has ended now. “Speak to SP Awantipora he will give you details,” the cop said.
Report reaching here said that three militants have died in the encounter and all the dead are believed to be local.
Efforts to reach SP Awantipora didn’t materialize.
Kashmir Life rang up SP Awantipora, S D Patil, again at 6:58 AM, he said, “we will be issuing a press statement after 10-15 minutes.”
