Jammu and Kashmir Police Monday said that atleast six persons were injured while one person died in road mishaps across Valley.
Reports reaching from Uri said that a minor was injured when she was hit by a sumo.
In Srinagar, a motorcycle bearing registration number GJ-5112 hit and injured a pedestrian identified as Manzoor Ahmad Degoo on M A Road near Petrol Pump. The injured was shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment.
A seven year old girl namely Raveena Bano, d/o Jabbar Malik, r/o Namla Uri got injured, when a speeding sumo bearing number JKO5C 7215 hit her. Raveen was on way to Uri from Namla.
The girl was rushed to Uri for first-aid, where from she was referred to Sub-District hospital Baramulla.
Medical officer Baramulla told Kashmir Life, “girl’s one leg has been completely damaged in the accident”.
Meanwhile, police have arrested the accused driver Rafiq Ahmed of Uri and FIR 27 of 2016 under sec 279/337 has been lodged in this regard.
In Kulgam, a vehicle bearing registration number JK13A-8003 hit a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02F-3368 at Wanpoh, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist identified as Abid Hussain resident of Anchidoora Islamabad. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, an unknown vehicle hit and injured a pedestrian identified as Ghulam Rasool Mir son of Abdul Qadoos resident of Damjan at Qazigund near J&K Bank Qazigund. The injured was shifted to Qazigund Hospital for treatment wherefrom he was referred to Bones and Joints Hospital Srinagar for further treatment.
In Bandipora, a motorcycle bearing Chassis number MD2A11CZ9GRL-22461 skidded off the road at Patushai Bandipora, resulting in injuries to two persons identified as Tahzeem Ahmad Mir and Sheraz Ahmad Mir both residents of Aadipora Sopore.
The injured were shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment where Tahzeem Ahmad Mir succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, a Scooty without registration number skidded off the road at Nadihal Aragam, resulting in injuries to Ahsan Ahmad Bhat and Adaf both residents of Nadihal Bandipora. The injured were shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment.
