The family was on way to Madina Munawwarah and were coming back after performing Umrah. Bashir, his father and his 12 month old daughter died on spot while as his wife, son and mother are fighting a battle with life in the hospital.

HANDWARA

nayeemHad he been alive he would have been rejoicing the moment but alas! Nayeem Qadir, 19, an enthusiast cricketer who fell to a bullet of forces in Handwara has been selected to study B Sc Forestry in Dehradun College. He had applied for it two days before he was shot dead. “The caller was shocked after I informed him that Nayeem was killed in police firing here,” said the deceased’s brother. Perhaps it is not new in Kashmir. Of late the news of slain Shaista Hamid of Lelhaar Pulwama’s result too was welcomed by some gloomy faces in her home town. She bagged 54 per cent in MA Urdu in MANUU.

BANDIPORA

tajamul-islam_pti-mA seven year old soft spoken girl from North Kashmir, Tajamul Islam, is selected for national kickboxing champion and is all set to represent India at an international event in Italy. Tajamul won national recognition when she bagged the gold medal in sub-junior category at 2015 National Kickboxing Championship, held at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi. Her achievement at the national level got her an entry to the World Championships, to be held in Andria, Italy in November. She would be the first ever Kashmiri girl to do so.

 SRINAGAR

Success for banking sector lies in marriage; that too an early one. In times of cashless transfers, a single click of ATM costs banks Rs 12 while as cellphone transfers may incur just Rs 1.50 per transaction. This is why RBI deputy governor H R Khan suggested in Srinagar to wed banking with cellphone for faster delivery at less costs. Much talked financial inclusion, he says is not the only way unless there is proper servicing of the accounts. In times of competition what experts suggest is to have improved investment-saving-lending cycle.

When PM Modi was boasting about the 20 crore accounts of Jhan Dan and including people in ambit of banking, faraway,  Bill gates was dissatisfied with a word of advice; use cell phone boss!

CIVIL SECRETARIAT

Besides, six ladies JKSRTC special buses are operational in Srinagar from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on daily basis.
