Stone pelting started in Pushwara Khanbal, Islamabad after the funeral of LeT militant who was killed in an encounter at Khalhar Kokernag in South Kashmir early Tuesday.
Thousands of people participated in the funeral of the Mushtaq Ahmad Haroo, who was laid to rest in his native village of Pushwara amid strong pro-freedom slogans.
However, soon after the funeral was held, scores of youth started pelting stones on police near Pushwara bridge, while forces fired scores of tear gas shells, reports said.
The situation remains tense in the area.
Mushtaq was killed in a brief encounter with forces in Khalhar Kokernag area of South Kashmir. He was active since last five months in south Kashmir, police said.
