PDP President calls Important Meeting of Party Functionaries on Oct 21

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti has called an important meeting of her party’s functionaries including officer bearers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, ministers, senior leaders, zonal presidents, districts and tehsil presidents on October 21 at her official residence in Gupkar here.

Sources told KNS that the meeting assumes significance in wake of recent controversies both within PDP and within the coalition partners. They said that the PDP president will take appraisal of the party’s and government’s performance from both ministers, elected leaders and the party functionaries. Mehbooba will also discuss her party’s future strategy with her colleagues, said sources, adding that thrust would be on to take a unanimous stand on all important issues related to the party and the functioning of the government.

Sources further said that the PDP president would especially take views from her party colleagues regarding the grassroots level perception about the government in the state especially in Kashmir Valley following the developments related to beef ban and attacks on Kashmiri drivers in Udhampur.

PDP General Secretary Nizamudin Bhat confirmed that PDP president has called a meeting on October 21.

He said that MP Mehbooba Mufti will discuss the strategy to strengthen the party at grassroots level and will take feedback from party functionaries about the working and functioning of the party. “Besides some important decisions will also be taken in the meeting,” he said.
