Miscreants will be Dealt With As Per Law: Min Zulfkar on Rajouri Situation

Urging people of Rajouri to maintain peace and tranquillity, Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and Tribal Affairs Choudhary Zulfkar Ali has said that whosoever is involved in disturbing peaceful atmosphere of Rajouri will be dealt with as per law and people should wait for the outcome of official inquiry initiated on the issue of alleged harassment.

The Minister while taking telephonic assessment of the situation from the district administration issued instructions to DDC and SSP Rajouri to handle the situation with care and cordially, an official statement said Saturday late evening.

He said the situation in Rajouri is being monitored closely and instructions have already been passed on to the law enforcing agencies to take action against the miscreants immediately. “We must keep patience and pave way for impartial investigations into the allegations of people”, the minister said.

He said the alleged incident which took place in a Police Station in the area is also being investigated by a senior police officer and the officer has been instructed to submit the report at the earliest.

The Minister said that as the matter is under investigation and there is no need of   strikes and people must maintain peace and calm so that the inquiry could be taken to the logical conclusion.

Meanwhile Inspector General of Police Jammu Range has been deputed to Rajouri to take stock of the situation.
