After Attack on Army, A “Militant” Killed in Kulgam

Moments after an army patrol party came under fire in Kulgam’s Yaripora area on Monday, a dead body was found in nearby Kanjikullar village, dubbed as “militant” by police officials.

The villagers say the army cordoned off the area after its patrolling party came under fire. An hour long search operation ended with gunshots once again ringing in the village.

Later as villagers came out, they found a body, which police dubbed as “runaway militant”—whom they have identified as Attaullah Bhat alias Khomeini.
