Relentless rains that continue to lash many parts of Valley Friday have maintained “green” status in Jhelum, which as per official data is flowing well below the danger mark.
As per the data released by Irrigation and Flood Control (IFC), Kashmir early Friday morning, the water level at Sangam was recorded at 13.60 ft—implying “Green” status, an indicator of no danger mark.
Jhelum, says IFC, has maintained the same status at Ram Munshibagh with 15.70 feet and 11.66 feet at Asham.
However, as it rains, a sense of uneasiness is palpable in public. Though the government seems visible on ground unlike last year’s September flood, but on face of nonstop rains, flood woes haven’t waned.
