SRINAGAR
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will on Thursday visit Srinagar and have a briefing 15 Corps Headquarters at badami Bagh.
Sources said that Parrikar is visiting an operational corps of the Indian Army for the first time after assuming charge.
He is scheduled to have a meeting with army officials at 15 Corps Headquarters, where he will be briefed about the ground situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and other security related issues.
Eight Army men, including one officer and three personnel of the J&K Police, were killed in two major militant attacks at Nowgam and Uri on December 1 and December 5, respectively. Six militants were also killed in these two incidents.
