Veteran National Conference leader and Finance minister in Omar’s council of ministers Abdul Rahim Rather is trailing behind Ghulam Nabi Lone of PDP in his home constituency of Chrar-I-Sharief by 1558 votes.

Rather, who is contesting his seventh election from Chrar-I_Sharief on NC ticket, is undefeated from the seat since 1977. Eight candidates including Rather are in contest for Chrar-I-Sharief assembly seat.
