One labourer died while four others were injured while working in a stone quarry at Panthachowk last evening, a police statement said on Friday adding two persons died while three others were injured in different road accident across the valley.
Five laborers were injured after they came under a sliding stones while working in a stone quarry at Panthachowk, Srinagar. All the injured were shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment where Mohammad Rafiq Drabu son of Abdul Aziz succumbed to his injuries.
A Tipper bearing registration number JK03A/8742 hit and injured a pedestrian Mohammad Yousuf Gani resident of Malwan on Flyover near Sofigund, in Kulgam, resulting in his on spot death.
Meanwhile, a motorcycle turned turtle at Warikhan Markundal, in Sumbal Bandipora, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist Bilal Ahmed Teli resident of Hajin. The injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura where he succumbed to his injuries.
In another accident, a Tanker bearing registration number JK02A/8432 hit a motorcycle bearing registration number JK01K/0263 at Bakshipora, Srinagar resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist and a pillion. Both the injured were shifted to JVC Bemina for treatment.
In yet another accident, a Tata Sumo hit and injured Umar Gulzar Malik resident of Hayan, at Trehgam, Kupwara. The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital, Kupwara for treatment.
