Div commander of JeM militant outfit was arrested in a joint operation launched by Police, Army and CRPF in Sopore, a police statement said on Saturday.
As per the statement on specific information of Srinagar police regarding the presence of top JeM commander in Yumberzalwari, forests in Bomie Sopore, a joint operation was launched by Srinagar Police, Sopore Police, 27 RR and CRPF 179 BN in the area. “During the operation a top militant of JeM outfit, Div commander Sadeeq Ahmad@ Sadiq son of Ghulam Sarwar Cheehi resident of Haripore Khyber Pakhtoon Khan, Pakistan was arrested,” the statement claiming 1 AK-47, 2 Magazine, 70 AK rounds and a pouch were recovered from his possession.
“Police has registered a case and investigation is on,” the statement concluded.
