Geelani Condemns Chattergam Killings, IGP Says, ‘Law Will Take Its Own Course’

At least two persons were killed and two others injured when army opened fire on a vehicle in Chattergam village of Budgam district on Monday evening.


The slain youth have been identified as Fazal and Mehraj while the two injured have been identified as Shahid and Shakeel.


Inspector General Police (IGP) Kashmir A G Mir said they have lodged an FIR into the incident. “Law will take its own course,” he told KNS.


Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani while condemning the incident said, “Indian troops are killing civilians which is highly condemnable.”


“People should show their anger against such killings,” he told KNS over phone from New Delhi.
