Panic gripped Yaripora area of the Kulgam district in South Kashmir after a mysterious explosion was heard during an election rally of congress candidate contesting on Homeshalibugh constituency Wednesday afternoon. However no one was injured in the incident.
The incident took place near sumo stand Yaripora local sources said forcing people to run for their lives.
SP Kulgam, Mumtaz Ahmad however told Kashmir Life that nobody was injured in the incident and the situation was normal. “It seems that some miscreant burst something like a firecracker causing panic but we are investigating the matter.”
Local sources said that they heard an explosion around a vehicle which was campaigning for congress candidate.
They said the explosion, which sounded like a grenade blast, caused panic among the people who had assembled to hear the congress candidate Anayat Rather.
